Files are divided according to their use, including ordinary files, plastic files (or assorted files) and special files. Among them, ordinary files are used the most.
Ordinary files can be divided into five types according to their cross-sectional shapes: flat files, semi-round files, square files, triangular files and round files.
Flat files are used for: filing planes and outer surfaces;
Square files are used for: filing grooves and square holes;
The triangular file is used for: filing triangular grooves, more than 60. inner corner face;
Semi-circular files are used for; filing inner curved surfaces and large round holes;
The round file is used for: filing round holes, small radius inner round holes.
Problems to pay attention to when using files
The file only cuts with force when advancing, and returns the file without adding force or cutting when returning, otherwise it will easily cause premature wear of the file; when filing, the total pressure on the file should not be too large. The space for tooth storage is limited, and too much pressure can only accelerate the wear of the file.
But the pressure should not be too small, the file will slip if it is too small, and the cutting purpose will not be achieved. Generally, it is appropriate to have a sense of toughness in the hand when pushing forward.
